Welcome in to our Ashtanga Yoga Shala. We are thrilled to have you join us for practice.
We welcome all questions and offer these suggestions to make your practice a more positive experience:
Please inform us of any injuries or medical conditions that may affect your yoga practice.
We are inspired by the traditional Ashtanga method as taught by Pattabhi & Sharath Jois in Mysore, India. Please do your best to maintain the traditional Ashtanga sequence of yoga asanas unless requested by your teacher. If you are unable to follow the sequence or if you perhaps do not know the sequence, please talk it over with your teacher so we can get on the same page.
Practice with care and consideration towards yourself and others. Respect your limits. Acknowledge that your body and mind will feel different every day; listen to what your body tells you and practice in your own time following your own breath.
Please register ahead for class to reserve your spot.
Personal hygiene is an integral part of practicing yoga. Please keep you, your clothes and mat clean. We recommend showering before class. Please refrain from wearing perfumes or scents to class.
Please refrain from unnecessary talking inside the yoga room.
Please spread your mat quietly.
We recommend to refrain from eating at least 2 hours prior to and 30 minutes after your practice. Drink plenty of water after your practice.
We do not practice Mysore style on New and Full moon. For more information please click here.
Please do not take new asanas unless agreed upon by your teacher.
Please leave your shoes downstairs along with your clothes and bag. Please leave your personal valuables on the shelves provided in the rear of the Yoga Shala. Please turn off your mobile phone.
Cultivate an attitude of gratitude and respect for yourself, your fellow practitioners, and the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga. Together, we create this supportive space dedicated and devoted to growth and transformation, health and happiness.
